Oxfam Trailwalker NZ is an annual fundraising event organised and promoted by Oxfam New Zealand . Funds raised from the event will support Oxfam New Zealand's humanitarian, development and advocacy work to lift some of the world's poorest people out of poverty.

In support of this charity Steve and Dawn Edmonds have entered to walk the 100km trail arround Taupo with friends Jill and Ruth and committed to raise $2000. Dawn and Jill completed the walk in 2007 and were silly enough to commit again. The walks are shown on Google Maps and are a little slow to load.

We have trained over the last few months around the Hibiscus Coast and the Haigs access to Stillwater coastal walk building up to a 50km walk last weekend and hope to complete the Taupo 100km walk in 24 to 25 hours. We feel this is a worthy cause to support plus we get to torture ourselves in the process. We have planned our gear and meals with military precision, beer and chips at Kinloch, dial a pizza and chocolate covered coffee beans for the midnight to dawn leg. Donations to Oxfam to support this cause can be made right through until May and would be much appreciated, any corporate sponsorship even more so.
